Lunar Plane was founded by identical twin brothers, Emre & Mert Altinok. They discovered their passion for producing music while developing an electronic music streaming platform in 2014. Born in Istanbul, the brothers were on the national swimming team and attended Yale University where they studied biomedical engineering and economics.

After signing a downtempo EP with Solomun’s label 2DIY4, Lunar Plane became the focus of the Altinok brothers. Fueled by their strong academic background and passion for music, the twins experimented with melodic techno, progressive house and electronica. As they discovered their unique style, the brothers produced a signature sound of emotional ethnic melodies accompanied by strong driving basslines, organic groovy drums, and deep ritualistic vocals.

As a result, more than 40 of their tracks charted globally. Eleven of these tracks were listed in Beatport’s Top 10 charts, and their tracks Olappa, Seraglio and their remix for Oliver Koletzki’s ‘Fire In The Jungle’ have made it to #1 on Beatport in their respective genres. In less than 5 years, Lunar Plane has become one of the most prominent artists in the electronic music scene. With strong releases on labels such as Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent, Solee’s Parquet, Moscoman’s Disco Halal and Just Emma’s Underyourskin Records, the twins captivated many dance-floors across the globe, including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, Seattle, Beirut, Bali, Doha, Moscow, Kiev, Athens, Istanbul and Cairo

Make a sound
From the core to mouth
From the ground of seas
Till you know how

From the primal mouth

Make a sound
From the core to mouth
From the ground of seas
Till you know how

We can ride forever
On the horses that will have no name
We can wear or never
Dusted armor of forever blame

Ooh, with a tremor sound
Ooh, on the quivered ground
Ooh, with a tremor sound
Ooh, from the primal mouth

We can ride forever
On the horses, frail yet still the same
We can cry together
And release into a quiet dream

Best known for his global hit “This Girl” (with Cookin’ On 3 Burners), French dance music producer Kungs has established himself as a dominant force. Since the song’s release in 2016, it has amassed a staggering 6.5 billion streams and been certified Diamond, catapulting Kungs to the upper echelon dance music’s streaming ranks.

He has now unveiled “Clap Your Hands,” a new single from his upcoming sophomore studio album Club Azur, which takes its name from the Mediterranean-inspired digital party Kungs launched at the start of the pandemic. Due for release in March 2022, the record will feature collaborations with Boys Noize, The Knocks, Good Time Ahead and Victor Flash.

Infused with irresistible Italo-disco vibes, “Clap Your Hands” features a kids choir and vibrant production from Kungs. The track arrived alongside a darkly funny music video, produced by Omar Films.

Check out the music video for “Clap Your Hands” below, as well as the tracklist of Kungs’ Club Azur album.

Enigma of the electronic world, Claptone delivers one of summer 2022’s most in-demand records for his single debut on Defected. An unmistakable homage to one of the 2000’s most iconic club records, a big rubbery bassline and brassy saxophone hook give ‘Calabria’ its warm familiarity sure to enthral dancefloors. Under his trademark Venetian guise, Claptone continues to be one of dance’s most majestic acts; fresh off the back of his lauded third studio album ‘Closer’ and with his spellbinding The Masquerade parties taking over iconic Ibiza club Pacha weekly all-summer-long, this Defected release continues to demonstrate an artist at the top of his game.

Tchami and Marten Hørger have long been in each other’s orbit, and after a slew of Hørger appearances on Confession Records and 2021’s Confession vs Night Bass tour, the father of future house and Hørger are formally colliding on their first collaboration, “The Calling.” Capturing Tchami’s priestly imagery in its artwork and in the connotation of its name and lyrical hook, “The Calling” has the makings of a coveted title: song of the summer. Released via Confession Records and mtheory, the label head and Hørger’s joint effort puts piano to work in a spry house framework bubbling with energy. Sure to feel the warm embrace of the dance/electronic club and festival circuit, “The Calling” is Tchami’s debut release of 2022 and Hørger’s third output of the year.

Dance musical legends Dimitri Vegas, David Guetta and Azteck team up along with ex Pussy Cat Dolls frontrunner Nicole Scherzinger for yet another summer-ready intoxicating tune titled ‘The Drop’.

Although relatively short in length at a mere 2 minutes, ‘The Drop’ still manages to pack an intrinsic punch featuring catchy back beats and illustrious vocals. The track is intoxicating, possessing an incredible power to draw the listener in with its addictive house elements. It will stand out on any club dancefloor and on the main stage of festivals across the globe, this was proven when all artists involved gave fans a surprise performance at Ibizan club Ushuaïa check a video of that out here.

Dimitri Vegas talks about the track and the process behind its creation when he states:

I’m very excited to release “The Drop,” a track we have worked on for quite a long time to try and bring the perfect balance between radio and club sounds. We really wanted the vocals to sound like an old skool 90s R&B sample, so we asked Nicole Scherzinger to record her amazing vocals on a much slower beat. We then reprocessed everything to a higher tempo and different key so we could create this pseudo-sampling feel. Very happy to collaborate on this with my good friends David Guetta and Azteck and can’t wait to share it with the world.

‘The Drop’ is out now on House of House a sub-label of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike‘s Smash The House, make sure to check the track out for yourself on Spotify below, or alternatively on your streaming platform of choice here. Don’t forget to let us know what you think.

One of your most recent stand-out tunes is “Coffee (Give Me Something)” which saw you team up with Tiësto. What was it like working with a legend in the dance music scene, and what brought you two together for this track?

I released “My Girl” on his label, Musical Freedom, in 2019. Afterward, we started talking about doing something together shortly. So that day came to life! It was the perfect opportunity; words can’t express how happy and grateful I am. I loved the song. Working with Tiësto is an honor and a lifetime experience. Imagine a boy hailing from a city of 15 thousand inhabitants in the middle of nowhere, who wanted to be a DJ, and now he is actually releasing a song with Tiësto? It feels incredible.

My girl wants to party all the time

Why you want to hurt me?
I can’t understand it
If you want to know what love is
I can show it’s worth it
Damn you’re pretty, pretty girl
You could live inside my world
Here’s a little diddy for ya
Maybe you could show me more
You know where to find me baby
You can find me up all night
If you want to know what love is
I can show you what it’s like

Vintage Culture and Goodboys unite for new single, ‘This Feeling’

Coming off of his first Coachella appearance at the Do Lab, Vintage Culture has graced us with a euphoric house cut called, “This Feeling” featuring Goodboys. In 2021 Vintage Culture had his debut on Insomniac Records with “You Give Me a Feeling” alongside James Hype. For the producer and singer duo, Goodboys, “This Feeling” is the first single since January’s “Black & Blue.”

The new collaborative single incorporates a catchy vocal hook that slides into progressive synth work, creating a unique crossover that straddles deep and Brazilian house tropes. The new track will certainly be a staple in Vintage Culture’s sets as the singalong lyrics are already primed to provide a wonderful closing selection. Listen below.

All this activity reflects Summit’s fast-tracked arrival as one of dance music’s most in-demand bookings, and Beatport’s top-selling artist of 2021. Remarkably, that rise to fame coincided with the world in lockdown. Summit’s true breakout moment came in 2020 with “Deep End” on Defected Records, a low-slung house groover with a grabby vocal that had been sitting idle in the producer’s sample folder. “Deep End” became Summit’s first Beatport number one, a fact he celebrated by popping a bottle of champagne with his mom.

His hot streak continued through 2021 with releases like “Beauty Sleep”, “Sun Came Up” with Sofi Tukker, “Human” featuring Echoes, and “Make Me Feel”. Gradually, the John Summit M.O. came into focus: punchy, melody-driven tech-house, with the drums and bassline as essential ingredients. In 2022, Summit went to number one on Beatport again with the Latin-tinged, bass-forward “La Danza” on Defected, followed by “In Chicago”, the first release on his new label, Off The Grid Records

Throughout this flurry of new music, Summit has cultivated a work-hard, play-hard persona on social media. His Instagram feed is loose and gleeful, accurately reflecting the pinch-yourself giddiness of newfound success. In between videos of crowds igniting to his tracks, Summit scatters memes, in-jokes and videos playing up DJ life. Recent highlights include a studio tour featuring hand-claps and numerous cans of Modelo, and a DM from a fan noting Summit’s resemblance to Ike from South Park. (Ike is now John’s Twitter profile photo.) Several captions quote the “I’m drunk and I’m high” line from “In Chicago”, becoming a mantra that accompanies the DJ’s adventures around the world.

Anyma, the brainchild of Tale Of Us‘ Matteo Milleri, has collaborated with multi-talented artist Chris Avantgarde on new single ‘Consciousness,’ out May 18th.

Steeped in emotion and majestically refined, ‘Consciousness’ combines euphoric arpeggios with sleek synths and rousing, robotic vocals. It follows Anyma’s recent collaboration single with Innellea, ‘Angel 1.’

Consciousness’ came about as Chris and I’s musical interpolation to connect the real and virtual world. Our sonic bridge between web3 and web2. The future and the past. – Anyma

Not only music as Anyma’s digital creation will be showcased, will premiere in Florence, Italy at the prestigious Palazzo Strozzi and its Let’s Get Digital! exhibition. The exhibition opens alongside other web3 visual art from creators such as Beeple, Krista Kim, and Daniel Arsham.

Utilizing the immense possibilities of Extended Reality, Anyma creates a universal language all of its own, bringing the artist and the audience closer, while blurring the boundaries between real and surreal. The end result is an interactive space that formulates itself as a journey of discovery, understanding human expressivity and creativity through soul and emotion analysis.

Chris Avantgarde, a classical and jazz-trained multi-instrumentalist, has previously released on Afterlife, following last year’s remix of KAS:’A ST’s Magic World.’ Chris’ work as a composer has landed him placements in both hit TV shows and blockbuster movie trailers. (DARK, Lucifer, Ragnarok, Sicario 2, Birds of Prey).

Consciousness,’ a futuristic and innovative collaboration by two pioneering artists in electronic music, is undeniably one of 2022’s most enthralling productions.

Italian rock band Måneskin performed a cover of the song during the eleventh season of X Factor Italia. A studio version of the song later appeared on their debut extended play Chosen, released in 2017. Recording sessions for the Chosen EP took place at the Metropolis in Milan, and mostly occurs at night, while the band was still competing on the show, and lasted only a few days. They were held at the recording studio owned by Lucio Fabbri, who served as the track’s producer.[65] Fabbri described the recording process for “Beggin'” as the result of a low-budget session. The song was “almost recorded live”, in a spontaneous manner which, according to him, helped to preserve the “human component, which disappeared in today’s music, often processed and filtered”.[65] Their cover largely follows the structure of the Madcon version, including the rap verse. Although it was not released as a single, it peaked at number 39 on the Italian Singles Chart and in 2018 received a gold certification by FIMI in their native country.

Following the band’s Eurovision victory in late May 2021, the song alongside the band’s other releases started appearing on music charts across Europe and beyond; viral success for the song on social media platform TikTok soon followed.[66] “Beggin'” has reached number one on the weekly charts in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia and Switzerland, the top five in Australia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden, and the top ten in Canada, Denmark, India, Philippines, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

On its first charting week on the UK Singles Chart (issue date June 24, 2021),[67] the song debuted at number 73, but in the following The Official Chart: First Look Top 20, it moved 56 places to number 17.[68][69] In the second charting week it peaked at number 10, becoming the band’s third UK Top 20 hit in less than a month, and as their song “I Wanna Be Your Slave” charted again in the Top 10 it was the first time they simultaneously had two songs in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, thus becoming the first Italian act and the first Eurovision-associated act to achieve this.[70][71] On its third charting week in the UK it peaked at number 7.[72] It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 78, later peaking at number 13, and has also reached the top five on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts.[66]

Their cover received a nomination for Favorite Trending Song at the American Music Awards of 2021, where they also performed the song, eventually losing to Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Body“.[73][74] They also performed the song at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, during the January 22, 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live, as well as during the twenty-first season of The Voice USA and on the final of the fifteenth season of X Factor Italia, returning as guests four years after their first performance there as contestants.[75][76][77][78][79]

A live recording of the song was released as a digital single on September 27, 2021.[80]

Over dense drum machines, self confessed workaholic MARIE DAVIDSON acts as your own personal business coach in her commanding new single ‘Work It’

Montreal producer MARIE DAVIDSON is a self confessed workaholic. After touring for most of last year and focusing on her incoming album Working Class Woman soon to be released on Ninja Tune, she’s just released a personal mission statement for the busy modern day producer. ‘Work It’, like Marie Davidson‘s work ethic, is unrelenting, featuring pounding percussion, deconstructed house vibes and her own commanding vocals.

Mixing the rhythms of club ready house and the sounds of classic drum machines, Davidson weaves together polyrhythms to create interest with only percussive sounds. Complex patterns are parroted by other drum sounds, repeating and looping in a quantised cacophony of rhythms. Over everything however, is her own commanding vocals.

She talks down to us over the beat, demanding we match her game until sweat is “dripping down your balls”. It follows the tradition of spoken delivery house vocals but adds a hefty dose of humour, as Davidson pokes fun at her own intensity and the overwhelming societal race to succeed. Just imagine a mix of Lucy Liu schooling computer nerds in Charlie’s Angels and Alec Baldwin ripping apart cold calling salesmen in Glengarry Glen Ross, and you have the energy of ‘Work It’.

This single is the second from her release Working Class Woman, out on October 5th, where she is bound to take this self effacing approach to the industry to the extreme. “It comes from my brain, through my own experiences: the suffering and the humour, the fun and the darkness to be Marie Davidson.” Her honesty and willingness to poke fun at herself and the scene is backed up with a intricate production style. Overall the album set to be an intimate look at every facet of the producer, as she explains, “It’s an egotistical album – and I’m okay with that.”

Marie Davidson‘s album Working Class Woman is out on 5th of October with Ninja Tune.

Pre-order the release and stream ‘Work It’ on your streaming/downloading site of choice here.
